Japa Sale (also called Relocation Sale or Bulk Sale) is when you're moving abroad or relocating
and need to sell multiple items at once.
How to post a Japa Sale:
1. Click "Post Ad"
2. Select category: "🔥 Japa Sales / Bulk Sales"
3. You'll see special fields:
List each item with individual price
Set a bundle price (optional discount if buyer takes everything)
Add your moving timeline
Upload photos of all items (up to 20 photos)
4. Submit!

Buying & Selling
On any listing page, you'll see the seller's contact options:
📞 Call Button - Calls their phone directly
💬 WhatsApp Button - Opens WhatsApp chat with them
✉️ Message (if enabled) - Send them a message through AhiaAwka
Seller's phone number is only visible to logged-in users.
AhiaAwka does NOT handle payments. We connect buyers and sellers - you arrange payment
directly.
Recommended payment methods:
Cash (in person, after inspecting item)
Bank transfer (after seeing the item, transfer while both present)
POS payment (face-to-face)
NEVER:
Pay before seeing the item
Use Western Union/MoneyGram
Pay with gift cards
Send deposit to "ship" the item
No. AhiaAwka is for local Awka transactions only.
Meet in person, inspect the item, pay, and collect. This keeps everyone safe.
If a seller insists on "shipping" from Lagos or anywhere else, it's a SCAM. Report them
immediately.
Most sellers are open to reasonable negotiation, especially for:
Japa Sales (moving urgently)
Items listed for a while
Bulk purchases
Items with minor defects
Tips for negotiating:
Be respectful
Make a realistic offer (not 50% off)
Explain your reason ("I noticed a scratch")
Be ready to walk away if price doesn't work
For Japa Sales, bundle purchases often get better discounts
This depends entirely on the seller. AhiaAwka doesn't enforce return policies.
Tips:
Ask about returns BEFORE buying
Inspect thoroughly before paying (so you don't need to return)
Get any return agreement in writing
For expensive items, consider bringing someone technical to inspect
Most sellers won't accept returns for used items, so inspect carefully!
Immediately:

Report to EFCC: WhatsApp 0809 932 2644 for financial fraud

We investigate within 24 hours and ban confirmed scammers permanently.

Account & Security
1. Log in to your account
2. Go to Settings (top right menu)
3. Click "Account" tab
4. Click "Change Password"
5. Enter old password, then new password
6. Save changes
1. Go to Login page
2. Click "Forgot Password?"
3. Enter your email address
4. Check your email for reset link
5. Click the link and create a new password
If you don't receive the email:
Check spam folder
Make sure you entered the correct email

ID verification is optional but recommended - it gives you a 🆔 badge and increases buyer trust.
How to verify:
1. Go to Dashboard → Verification
2. Choose ID type (NIN, Driver's License, Passport, Voter's Card)
3. Upload clear photos:

4. Submit for review
Review time: 24-48 hours
We check:
ID is clear and readable
Name matches your account
Selfie matches ID photo
ID is not expired
Once approved, you get the 🆔 badge on all your listings!
We're sorry to see you go!
1. Go to Settings → Account
2. Scroll to bottom: "Delete Account"
3. Enter your password to confirm
4. Your account and all listings will be permanently deleted
Note: This cannot be undone. All your listings will be removed immediately.

We have zero tolerance for scams.
We also maintain a database of banned numbers/emails so scammers can't just create new
accounts.
Technical Issues
Free! Basic listings are completely free.
Optional paid features:
🔥 Featured Ad: ₦500-1,000/week (appears at top of search)
⚡ Urgent Badge: ₦300/week (marks your listing as urgent)
Most users never need these - free listings work great!
Common solutions:
1. Check file size: Photos must be under 5MB each
2. Check file type: Only JPG, JPEG, PNG allowed
3. Try smaller photos: Compress them first
4. Try different browser
5. Check internet connection (uploading requires good connection)
6. Try mobile: Sometimes mobile upload works better
Still stuck? Email us with screenshot of error.
Solutions:
1. Wait 60 seconds then click "Resend Code"
2. Check you entered the correct number (including country code +234)
3. Check phone signal - you need good signal to receive SMS
4. Check with your network - some networks delay SMS
5. Try airtime: Load small airtime (₦50) and try again
If none of this works, contact us and we can manually verify you.

Payments & Billing
Try these steps:
1. Refresh the page (Ctrl+R or Cmd+R)
2. Clear your browser cache:
Chrome: Ctrl+Shift+Delete → Clear browsing data

3. Try a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari)
4. Check your internet connection
5. Try on your phone (mobile data vs WiFi)

When posting or editing a listing, you'll see options for Featured Ad or Urgent Badge.
Payment methods:

Online payment (Paystack)

Instructions appear after you select the option.
Featured/Urgent badges: No refunds once activated (they run for the time purchased).
Exception: If there's a technical issue on our end preventing your ad from showing, we'll refund
or extend the duration.
